The installation process is straightforward and easy:

1. Turn off the water supply and press the red pressure-relief button (if present).
2. Unscrew the housing, remove the large o-ring, wipe it clean, and set it aside.
3. Discard the used filter cartridge.
4. Wash the housing with dish soap and warm water using a nonabrasive sponge or cloth, then rinse thoroughly.
5. Fill the housing one-third with water, add about 1 tablespoon of bleach, and scrub to disinfect, then rinse thoroughly.
6. Lubricate the o-ring with clean silicone grease and insert it into the groove, ensuring it is seated level.
7. Insert the new filter cartridge.
8. Screw the housing onto the cap and hand-tighten, being careful not to over-tighten.
9. Turn on the water supply, press the pressure-relief button (if present), and check for leaks before leaving the installation.
